What each tier actually gives you
The amount buys a speed. The tier decides how the line behaves when the belt is busy, what happens to your traffic, and how quickly somebody picks up when it stops. The five rows most people decide on are below — open the rest whenever you want it.

What these terms mean
- Contention ratio
- How many premises may share the same slice of capacity. A lower ratio means fewer neighbours competing for the same bandwidth at the busy hour.
- Fair-usage allowance
- The volume carried at full plan speed. Past it the connection keeps working at a reduced speed rather than stopping.
- Burst
- Being allowed briefly above the plan speed. Short spikes are permitted; it is not a permanently higher speed.
- Traffic prioritisation
- Marking and sorting traffic so the applications you depend on are handled before the ones you do not.
- ONT and CPE
- The equipment at your premises that terminates the fibre and connects your own network to it.
These three tiers are shared fibre broadband, not a dedicated leased line. Enterprise runs at 1:2 to 1:4 contention. If you need committed, unshared bandwidth, that is the leased line product. Security features listed here run on our network and protect the connection; they are not a managed security service for the equipment inside your premises. Uptime commitments and service credits are set out in your written service agreement.

Business questions
How are the business amounts billed, and is GST included?
The amounts on the plan cards are per month and exclude GST. Pick a billing period and the card shows the monthly amount with the discount already applied, the total for the period, the GST at 18% and the total payable. Home plans are quoted differently — those are GST inclusive.
What do the longer billing periods save?
90 days saves 5%, 180 days saves 10% and 360 days saves 20% against 30-day billing. The service is identical on all four periods. The discount is applied to the price you see, and the amount saved is shown in every price breakdown.
Is installation free?
No. Installation charges are extra and billed at actual cost. The scope and charges are confirmed after the site assessment, before you approve the work. Equipment beyond the tier, additional cabling, civil work or deposits, where they apply, are quoted separately.
What is the difference between business broadband and a leased line?
The three priced tiers — Basic, SME and Enterprise — are shared fibre broadband, with contention ratios from 1:10–1:20 down to 1:2–1:4. A dedicated internet leased line is a different product for businesses needing committed bandwidth and higher reliability, and it is quoted per site after a survey rather than sold from the schedule.
What actually causes downtime in an industrial area?
Most often a fibre cut — municipal road or drainage work, or MSEB cable laying, going through a duct. On the Enterprise tier the site is built with duplex fibre, or fibre with an RF path, so the premises is not depending on a single trench. Whether a genuinely separate route is possible at your address is what the site assessment determines.
Do I get someone who knows my site?
On the Enterprise tier you are assigned a dedicated account manager. Basic and SME are handled by the shared account desk, with the escalation path set out in your service agreement.
What support comes with a business connection?
It depends on the tier. Support runs 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Saturday on Basic, 8 am to 10 pm seven days a week on SME, and 24×7×365 on Enterprise. First response, restoration and on-site attendance are three separate targets that also differ by tier. The working days, when the clock starts and what is excluded are set out in your written service agreement.
What do the security features actually cover?
They run on our network and protect the connection — a NAT firewall on the ONT for Basic, a managed firewall and threat filtering for SME, and managed UTM, intrusion prevention, web filtering, a VPN gateway and DDoS-protected bandwidth for Enterprise. They are not a managed security service for the equipment and systems inside your premises.
